A 650-acre ranch beside Lake Palestine has been purchased for a future Texas state park. Held by the Pollard family since 1940, the property includes pine woods, ponds and a pecan orchard.
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation completed the purchase on October 1 and plans to transfer the land to the state in late 2027. The site is not open to the public, and an opening date has not been set. What is complete is the acquisition for conservation and eventual recreation.
