A large stream-bank restoration project along Cayuga Inlet Creek in New York is now showing visible green growth after years of planning and construction. The project was supported by a $564,520 state grant and $117,157 in local matching funds to improve water quality and stabilize the creek.
Restoration can look unimpressive while the work is underway: bare banks, new plantings, and a long wait for roots to take hold. The returning greenery is a reminder that ecosystems often need time before the benefits become visible.
