A study highlighted by the Global Environment Facility examined more than 650 published cases of conservation action and found that conservation efforts were effective more often than not. The research looked across different places, species, and interventions rather than focusing on one project or one ecosystem.
That matters because conservation news often gets reduced to either catastrophe or miracle. A broad evidence review offers a more useful picture: protection and restoration are not guaranteed, but they frequently improve outcomes when they are designed well and sustained over time.
