Doctoral researchers from Loughborough, Cranfield, and Strathclyde universities built a system that recovers heat from solar panels and uses it to support hydrogen production. Their demonstration combined a solar farm measurement system with a thermally integrated photovoltaic-electrolyser.
The project is also a story about how people learn to solve complicated problems together. Researchers from different disciplines spent weeks turning ideas into working hardware, gaining experience in materials, electronics, chemical engineering, and system integration along the way.
